Having the Grave Digger title has in itself no effect in the game altough digging graves in cities do lowers your reputation there. A shovel is required to dig up graves, like at Golgotha. Graves can be empty, but can also contain various random items. Items, and their condition, vary widely.
When digging a grave, sometimes you get the following message:
- You can't dig now, someone or something large is on the grave. Maybe even you?
This indicates that the player character is standing in the wrong place, on top of the very dirt he's trying to move with a shovel. Move to another spot and try again.
