This is a working desktop where a new startup guide is being planned. It could be used now as-is by a new player, but only down to "STOP". It's not even in beta mode yet, so don't expect it to be 100% accurate - it's not.

The intention is to provide a structured route for a new player to start a lead-in character, and hit level 9 on easy tasks. Then mix in more combat quests, do some advanced crafting and barter runs, all to prepare gear piles to begin additional characters. Use a leveling build, send new characters straight to a base, grab a pile of gear, drugs, ammo and a vehicle all prepared by the lead character, and proceed to power-level hunting in the desert.

Get an additional character to a target level, and re-roll the 2nd character into a standard Minigun Tank. Begin solo'ing tougher quests like Gunrunners Mutants, and NCR Raiders. Barter runs will become more profitable, and the new player will realize progress.

This structured route gets a new player into the game with a clear direction, and past the first 3 perks with low risk, then steps up production and combat capability. It leads the new player through...

  • Important NPC people in Hub and a 5-zone local area, and easy get-started tasks
  • Vehicle ownership and control of a private base
  • The value of a leveling build, and how to power-level hunting desert critters
  • The re-roll feature/process
  • Increased combat capability, heightened production and Barter runs
  • The value of a strong minigun fighter
  • Prep more gear piles to repeat the process and add more specialty characters like sneakers, snipers, a rocketeer, etc.
