Raw physical strength. A high Strength is good for physical characters. Modifies: Hit Points, Melee Damage, and Carry Weight. Also you suffer hit chance penalty if you don't have enough Strength to handle your weapon.

Note: Your Strength can be permanently increased by 1 point with an implant, unless it is already 10, the maximum.

Tips

Strength is beneficial to all character builds. A large majority of character builds have a strength between 5 and 8. Unless using drugs, it is very penalizing to lower it below 5. Low strength results in a decreased carry weight, and slightly lower health (Each point in strength adds one point to overall health). The number of points you put in Strength depends on which fighting skills you intend to use. If you use skills like Big Guns (heavy weapons which require 7 in strength) or hand-to-hand fight, it is strongly suggested to have a strength equal to or above 7. For Small Guns a strength of 5 is enough. As for Energy Weapons, a strength of 6 is recommended. The weapon check for some guns vary from the general rule, so check the strength requirement for whichever weapon you intend to use. For each point of strength under a weapon's ST requirement, your corresponding weapon skill is penalized by 20% when determining your Chance to hit. Strength is very important to crafters as well, because they benefit from a high Carry Weight.
