The Great Valley basin is a massive desert region that plays host to some of the most hostile entities in the Californian wasteland. As a desert region, travel is much faster vs most terrain, but brings with it a greater difficulty roll vs a player's Outdoorsman skill. With this, travel across the Valley can be fairly dangerous for a beginner or moderately leveled character with a poor Outdoorsman skill %, as the encounters within consist of higher level creatures and NPC's that pose a substantial challenge.

Along the edges of the Valley basin are numerous towns, and a few locations within.
The following towns line the edges of the Valley:
- San Francisco to the West by the coast.
- New Reno to the North East.
- Modoc to the North.
- Brotherhood Of Steel HQ to the South East.

Encounters
Entities vary widely, and while most of them will occur in a desert region, some tiles also present urban wastes. One should be prepared to fight against tougher opponents in this region or quick to flee.
