Centaurs are mutated creatures that appear in Fallout (and reloaded). They were created by the Master, who mixed a variety of animals, including humans, dogs, and other types of animals, into a Forced Evolutionary Virus (FEV) nutrient vat. The virus produced rapid and unpredictable mutations, resulting in the creation of centaurs.
Centaur and floater hunting works as an excellent way of grinding xp. Just make sure to do it with a fire xp build, to make the process of killing them faster and more conservative.
