Rescue Missions
Rise among the ranks of the Brotherhood of Steel.
I now either need to help the Hummer between Reno and Gordon's or the injured patrol near Mariposa.
Broken Down Hummer
One of our Hummers has broken down between Reno and Gordon's Gas Station. You need to visit the brothers watching the vehicle, and help them get to Gordon's.
NOTE: Some people have trouble finding the Super Stimpak in this quest location, which leads to worse trouble if they exit to get one of their own, because the location disappears from the map when you exit. Search the corpses there to find it, and use it on the Injured Patrolman via dialogue. (If you lose the location, try letting the quest expire and attempt it again later.) Once dialogue is done, you can heal him to get extra XP (use both Doctor and First Aid skills).
Injured Patrolman
One of our brothers was separated from his patrol recently, and we've just received word that he is injured and needs assistance. Find him near Mariposa, and get him back on his feet.
Head toward Mariposa and find Apprentice Snyder in a unique quest encounter featuring a bloody scene. No spoilers. Figure it out and report back to a paladin (Paladin Windsted or Paladin Henrickson or Paladin Myers).
NOTE: When you complete one of these rescue mission and report back to your recruiting paladin, he sends you on your next assignment to Investigate a hidden bunker near Necropolis. He explains this is the last mission as an Initiate (next rank is Senior Initiate). He will compliment you on your good work, and direct you to get further assignments from Lost Hills.
NOTE: Apparently, this location is not found nearly as soon while driving a vehicle, so you may want to park that car and get out and walk around Mariposa to find Snyder.
NOTE: Don't expect Snyder to ever stand up, even after you give him the Super Stimpak.
