Deputy Kelly, of the Hub, hired me to exterminate a large group of rats somewhere outside of the city. I need to go to that new location on my map, and kill all the rodents.
Captain Joe Kelly near the Hub's entrance is having trouble with a bunch of rodents that are harrassing his patrol groups outside the city. He wants you to eliminate these rats for him. After accepting the job, you will be given a location on the world map. It is usually on any of the grid spaces near the HUB often appearing southward. This can be a good quest for new players to gain experience quickly, although it is not recommened to try this under level 4.
When you enter the location in turn-based mode, the battle will begin immediately. Regardless of what battle mode you choose, all enemies will know your and your allies' presences and go after everyone. You will start relatively near groups of Mutated Rats and Tough Pig Rats. There are usually eighteen to twenty-five of them in total and no group usually has less than nine rodents. Eliminate all the rats before leaving in order to get a confirmation message to return to the Hub and speak to Joe Kelly.
After completing the quest, Joe Kelly will pay you 250 Caps and earn 350 xp. He also mentions that you can return to kill more rodents after an hour (in-game) has passed.
Requirements
None, but it is recommended you are decent in combat or have a companion who is. It is also advised to be at least level 4 before attempting this, since you will spawn close to the enemies. If you are inexperienced with real-time combat, then be sure to switch to turn-based combat before accepting the job.
