Basic Information
Combat is one of the main elements of the Fallout Universe, and is initiated when one of these happens:
- A player character hits an NPC (PvE)
- A player character is hit by an NPC (PvE)
- A player character hits another player character (PvP)
- A player character is hit by another player character (PvP)
Once initiated, a player character is in "Combat Mode" with a short timer. That timer starts over each time any of these above things happens.
In order to complete some quests, receive some items or simply to defend or to kill, characters engage in combat. In FOnline: Reloaded there are two modes of combat: Real-Time (RT) and Turn-Based (TB). Players are free to choose their preferred combat mode on random encounters. Real-Time combat is set as default in cities and all preset map locations.
Tactics
Player characters and NPCs utilize diffent tactics in combat. Some critters try to keep distance, while others do it up close and personal. Depending on preferred weapon type and style, critters might spacialise in Unarmed, Throwing, Energy Weapons, Big Guns, Small Guns, and possibly Sneak.
