A Special Encounter is a type of random encounter. They are much more rare than the standard encounters and they consist of a special map, usually with valuable goods. Generally they can be found anywhere, but specific special encounters won't appear on the zones where they don't fit. For example, you won't find an urban special encounter in a desert zone. They can be found many times by the same character.

Note: When you find a normal encounter, you typically hear an audio bling to help alert you, but this might not be the case with Special Encounters which seem to happen silently.

• A small Hidden Bomb Shelter
  • A popular SE because it has chance to find rare items including PPK12 Gauss Pistol or Power Armor

• Abandoned howitzer
  • Should be a total of 10 Howitzer Shells

• A Family Grave
  • 10k caps, a Diamond Necklace, and Spectacles

• Old Warehouse

• A Medical Clinic

• A Factory

• An overturned Nuka Cola Truck
  • Two containers with Nuka-Cola guarded by a centaur

• The Military Bunker, a tough dungeon encounter with good loot (Assualt Rifles, Sniper Rifles, Grenades, Plasma grenades, Microfusion cells, Rockets AP and Explosive, Plasma Glock, 10 Artillery shells,An advanced/Unique Energy/Gauss Weapon) including a random implant module
  • Found in desert/mountain areas, location will be removed after 24 real hours
  • The enemies outside are turrets, inside you'll find Robobrains (220HP), eyebots(50HP?), and Robotanks(480HP).
  • Inside of the Basement there is a Nemezis [Boss Robotank] with a whooping 3800HP?
  • Remember to bring friends as the robots heal overtime.
  • Distress Signals do not appear to work at this location.
