Sometimes called tiles, a zone is a square on the map, formed by the horizontal and vertical lines. Each zone has an address, like 35:40 or 12:2.
Zone Types
- Desert: lighter in color and often populated by Floaters, Centaurs, Deathclaws, Fire Geckos, Aliens, and many others.
- City Ruins: where you can hunt Footlockers for many items including Blueprints
- Hills/Mountains: this kind of zone comprises the majority of the map
- Water: you can fly over it if you have a Vertibird
- Coastal: many of the coastal random encounters have water/ocean on one side
- Island: you can reach these in a Vertibird
- Town: where a populated town is
