It appears that the wasteland is suffering from overpopulation. There are simply too many children around. I took a strange job... I need to go to a specific location on my map, and murder a large group of Orphans. What the hell am I becoming?
When you try to confess your sins to Father Confessor, you need to tell him how you:
- killed a child
- want to burn everything to the ground
- want to let the devil inside of you and unleash a second apocalyptic wrath upon mankind
This will tickle his psycho bone and he will proceed to explain that the wasteland at large has a problem with overpopulation and he will ask you to kill an arbitrary number of children. Usually 600 or more. The number's different, usually higher, every time he's asked.
He doesn't really want you to kill this many children. Instead, he wants you to go to a generic yellow encounter. It's not marked with any helpful description. On my first attempt it said "Mountains 3". You go there, kill all the children in there (about 20 or so) and that's it. You will know it's done when you see this message in your event log:
War... War, never changes... Oh well... Better collect my reward from the priest.
