About the Exit Package
This is one of the many tasks in Lander's Point that adds an item to your Lander's Point Exit Package. You don't get the item immediately; you get it when you leave the camp and head out into the open world by talking with Custos. You can leave at any time, but remember: when you leave the camp, you don't ever go back, and all items in your Inventory are removed at that time and given back to the residents of Lander's Point, including whatever Caps you've accumulated. When you leave, you're given only an Exit Package which consists solely of items associated with the tasks you've completed while staying at the camp.
