Super Cattle Prod (SCP for short) is the best friend of melee fighter.
You can buy blueprint from Ralph in Gun Runners for 10000 caps.
About This Weapon
- It is the only melee weapon (for now) that has electrical type of damage (along with regular Cattle Prod of course).
- SCP is most effective against Metal Armor which offers no protection against electrical damage. It is also effective against Metal Armor Mark II which offers very little protection.
- A good weapon for most PvE since animals usually have low electrical resistance.
Advantages
- Accurate is a weapon perk which increases the chance to hit by 20%.
- It's critical hit death animation is awesome.
- Electrical resistance can not be boosted by Drugs, so SCP deals the same amount of damage to Psycho-drugged as it would to non-drugged. All other melee weapons have Normal type of damage, so killing druggies in good armor without use of SCP becomes very hard task for melee fighter.
- Electrical resistance is usually lower than or equal to Normal resistance of Armors, except for Tesla Armor.
One Exception
Tesla Armor has 90% electrical and only 20% normal damage reduction. So you'd better always have some Ripper, Super Sledge or Power Fist to face it. However, those who wear Tesla armor usually are drugged too and have 40-50%(without\with Toughness Perk) Normal damage resistance.
How to Obtain
- Merchants rarely sell SCP, so get Profession: Energy Expert 2 and craft them yourself.
Weapon Comparisons
- Min. Damage is 5 points higher than Ripper's (Max. Damage is same for both).
- Average Damage is 1 point lower than Super Sledge's , but SCP's AP cost is point 1 lower.
