Looks like there's an Abandoned Hotel far to the east of Vault 15. The ruins of a once prosperous city named "Ridgecrest" have now become home to random gang bangers, and a variety of criminals alike. Now that I have its location, I can harass them as much as I want.
Get the location by talking with a trader NPC or with some Junktown Scouts in random encounter.
This is a relatively easy Dungeon, but it is advised for single players to enter only in Turn-Based Combat. (There may be considerable waiting periods between turns, reducing with the number of bad guys left alive of course) There is about 40 thugs of some variety here which attack you on sight:
- 10 Yakuza armed with Hunting Rifles in Leather Jackets, 263 HP, each 520 XP.
- 10 Trappers armed with Spears and 1-5 Grenade (Frag), (of which they make no use of somehow) in Metal Armors 139 HP, each 300 XP.
- 10 Trappers armed with 10mm Pistols in Leather Armors, 139 HP, each 300 XP.
- 5 Trappers armed with Hunting Rifles in Leather Armors, 139 HP, each 300 XP.
- 5 Press Gangers armed with 10mm Pistols in Leather Jackets, 170 HP, each 700 XP.
- The Leader, A tough guard , armed with a M60 and clad in Metal Armor, 263HP, and the only troublesome opponent, is waiting for you in the middle of the hotel, next to the "Loot-Chamber"is somehow worth only 360 XP.
Making a grand total of 16560 XP.
The best strategy seems to be sniping them through the numerous windows, while side-stepping before the end of turn. the only non-locked door is the one to the lower left corner of the building so it is the only one they can exit through.
- Some, except the Spear-trappers, also carry a Stimpak and a Bottle of Jet but all drop their complete Armors and Helmets, which are in reasonable condition.
- There is also a Room in the middle of the Hotel, with 3 Chests and 2 Footlockers, all containing minor loot.
- Also,in a House to the north, Vic's Radio can be found.
