We are The Iron Fists, a group of people who enjoy playing Close Combat characters. (Formerly called "The Bleeding Hands".)

We do some tougher PvE fights as a 100% Pure HtH team, muscle training at base, or plan some Close Combat PvP operations.

Hand-to-Hand Combat is fun! So if you are interested, apply for membership in The Iron Fists!

First, read these basic faction rules.

  • Only Close Combat characters are invited to join this faction; level doesn't matter.
  • You are friendly and helpful to new members, and do not kill fellow members. (Accidents do happen).
  • Don't get mad when accidentally killed by fellow member(s) during training. (Accidents do happen lol).

Next, send a forum PM to a TIF member in the list below. Tell us:

  • About you, and the name and ID of your Close Combat character.
  • Tell us what you expect from this faction.

(We use the VTDB feature to verify applicants' builds, and only invite Close Combat fighters.)

To chat with us, join our IRC channel on forestnet.org: /join #TIF

A popular approach to fist-fighting is to combine Strength 10 with Heavy Handed to inflict the maximum amount of Knockdowns on your opponents. They cannot hit you back or run away if they are not standing up, and they lose their Action Points when they get knocked down, and spend what they recover just to stand back up. Meanwhile you knock them down again. Buffout boosts your ST from 7 to 9 and Psycho gives you that last +1 to ST for ST 10. Psycho also increases your Damage Resistance by 15% and Beer adds another 5% to DR, neither with any penalty since your PE is already 1.

This version has all three Lifegiver perks to get more Hit Points, but optionally you could choose Action Boys to punch more/faster, or you choose the real HtH perks to do more damage per punch, like Bonus HtH Damage. You decide.

Above is optimized for 1-on-1 fist-fighting, like in a boxing ring. However, for more open PvP, you could make a few changes. Like choose Stonewall and Toughness instead of Quick Recovery and In Your Face!. The Bonehead Trait is also attractive over Small Frame if you don't mind lowering Luck. Lower LK some more and you can boost ST to avoid using Buffout and Nuka-Cola.
