Basic Information
The advantages the HPFA has over the normal FN FAL is its ability to fire the whole 20 round magazine in one burst, and slightly higher single shot damage. Compared to the XL70E3, this weapon is the obvious choice for any burst specialist. With a full burst, the FAL does 480 damage on average, and the XL70 does ~338. That is not taking armor into consideration, but the extra 25% DR penetration afforded by the 5mm AP round simply doesn't make up for the additional 150 points of damage afforded by the HPFA's high fire rate and the large 7.62mm round. Another advantage is that 7.62mm is much cheaper and easier to craft and much cheaper to purchase than the 5mm AP round. However, be careful of having low luck -- more rounds per burst means more chances for the weapon to critically fail and lose its magazine, or worse, destroy itself.
