- All humans, both NPC and Player Characters, die at -20 HP
- Player Characters with Dead Man Walking die at -40 HP
- Humans and Player Characters alike die when they are damaged by poison while at 1 HP or below.

When a player character dies, they get a 60-second timeout called replication. After the timeout, the character normally "wakes up" at a nearby Respawn Point. Whatever gear he had equipped when he died, should be in his Inventory (unless he died in a FLD location such as Dayglow, Glow, Talchem), and other items he had should still be there. Depending on how he died, his armor and weapon will have suffered some noticeable Deterioration.
Players above level 24 lose some Experience Points on death (less if killed by player).
Armor and Weapon Deterioration penalty on player's Death, depending on death type.
NOTE: You may or may not get a "death message" in your chat bar, and hear a voice narrating it.
