If you try to hit something, but you do not manage to hit it, it means that you missed it. Typically, all Characters have a 5% minimum chance, each time they attempt to hit a target. Some misses and be critical misses, which are of course much worse.
Similarly, a critical failure can occur, based heavily on a Character's Luck, when attempting to use First Aid. A critical miss during First Aid will yield the message, "It went horrible."
