Abbreviations

These are some common abbreviations in this game:

• AB - Action Boy
• AC - Armor Class
• AFK - Away from keyboard
• AG - Agility
• AK - The more accurate, but less-used abbreviation for Assault Rifle. Look at the in-game text description of the Assault Rifle to see it is an AK
• AP - Action Points, or Armor Piercing
• APA - Advanced Power Armor
• APH - Advanced Power Armor Helmet
• APK - Anti Player-Killer, those who fight against tyranny (as opposed to PK, or Player-Killer)
• AR - Assault Rifle, or Adrenaline Rush
• Ares - Ares Rocket Silo
• BC - Better Criticals
• BCA - Brotherhood Combat Armor
• BCH - Brotherhood Combat Helmet
• BG - Barter Grounds, or Big Guns, or Boneyard Guard perk.
• BH - Broken Hills, or maybe Bonehead, and sometimes Brotherhood Combat Helmet
• BKR - Bridgekeeper's Robes
• BoA - Book of Achievement
• BRD - Bonus Ranged Damage
• BRoA - Bonus Rate of Attack, a merging of BRoF and Bonus HtH Attacks
• BRoF - Bonus Rate of Fire, a retired perk, replaced by BRoA.
• CA - Combat Armor
• CA MKII - Combat Armor Mark II
• CA2 - An even shorter abbreviation for Combat Armor Mark II
• CC - Close Combat or Crit Chance
• CCM - Closed Combat Master
• CH - Charisma or Combat Helmet
• CLJ - Combat Leather Jacket
• CtH - Chance to Hit
• CW - Carry Weight
• DCA - Desert Combat Armor
• DCH - Desert Combat Helmet
• DIY - Do It Yourself, as in DIY Bases which are the four that can be sited wherever you want them
• DL - Dual-Log is when a player is logged into two Characters at the same time
• DoC - Deck of Cards
• DR - Damage Resistance
• DT - Damage Threshold
• ECA - Enclave Combat Armor
• ECH - Enclave Combat Helmet
• EMC - Even More Criticals
• EN - Endurance
• EP - Exit Package
• ET - Even Tougher
• EW - Energy Weapons
• FA - First Aid skill
• FCC - Fuel Cell Controller
• FE - Forced Encounter
• FEV - Forced Evolutionary Virus
• FF - Fortune Finder (undocumented perk), or Friendly Fire, or Focus-Fire.
• FLC - Friendly Lending Company, the bank located in some towns
• FLD - Full Loot Drop, describes a place/event where you lose all gear when you die, and thus invites PvP activity. Dayglow is a good example of a FLD place.
• FM - Field Medic
• FOnline - This game, in its various forms. See FOnline Servers. Related details:
  • F1 - The original Fallout game from 1997, now owned by Bethesda, sometimes called Fallout 1
  • F2 - Fallout 2, the sequel released only 1 year after F1 due to F1's immediate success
  • FO2238 - FOnline: 2238 (now offline) was hosted by Rotators
  • FOR - FOnline: Reloaded, this game, hosted by Kilgore, DocAN and mojuk
  • FO2 - FOnline 2, one of the other FOnline servers, not to be confused with Fallout 2
  • F3 - Fallout 3
  • FNV - Fallout New Vegas
• FoV - Field of View
• FR - Fast-Relog, something that is against the rules if applicable in any way to PvP
• GM - Game-Master. The only GMs are the devs. There are no other GMs beyond the devs.

• HR - Healing Rate

• IN - Intelligence

• ML - Multi-Log, is when a player is logged into multiple Characters at the same time

• NCR - New California Republic but commonly refers to Shady Sands
• NR - New Reno
• NRA - New Reno Arms, a guns store in New Reno
• OD - Outdoorsman skill
• OoC - Out of Character, as in text chat in brown color via /O, one of the In-Game Chat options
• PA - Power Armor
• PC - Player Character - not the player, but any one of a player's in-game Characters
• PE - Perception
• PH - Power Armor Helmet
• PJ - Pancor Jackhammer
• PK - Player-Killer, those who murder others (as opposed to APK, or Anti Player-Killer)
• PP - Party Points or YK32 Pulse Pistol
• PR - Poison Resistance
• PTK - Poisoned Throwing Knife
• PvE - Player versus Environment
• PvP - Player versus Player
• Pyro - Pyromaniac
• QP - Quick Pockets
• QR - Quick Recovery
• rAP - Recharge Action Points
• RBtE - Right Between the Eyes
• RCA - Ranger Combat Armor
• RCH - Ranger Combat Helmet
• RE - Random Encounter
• RL - Rocket Launcher, or Real Life (IRL above)
• RoF - Rate of Fire when Shooting
• RP - Role-Play
• RR - Radiation Resistance
• RT - Real-Time (mode) as opposed to TB below
• SAD - Sierra Army Depot
• SB - Stealth Boy
• SD - Silent Death
• SE - Special Encounter
• SF - San Francisco (or Small Frame, which is no longer a working Perk)
• SG - Stealth Girl
• SMG - Submachine Gun, a class of weapon that includes the 10mm SMG, H&K P90c, H&K G11, H&K G11E, and the Laser SMG.
• SPECIAL - A Character's SPECIAL is a combination of Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility, and Luck.
• SR - Silent Running or Sniper Rifle
• SS - Sharpshooter the perk, Shady Sands commonly called NCR, or Solar Scorcher
• ST - Strength
• Stat/Stats/Statted - Refers to bonus properties on some Weapons and Armor, which makes them more effective. A "statted" item can be found, enchanted, or sometimes crafted:
  • Quality: the item will have 1 bonus property, like +1 Range, or +25 Max Damage, or -1 AP or Carry Weight for armor.
  • Improved: the item will have 2 bonus properties, like +15 Min Damage and +10 Max Damage.
  • Superior: the item will have 3 bonus properties, maybe to Accuracy, Crit Power, Crit Chance.
  • Advanced: the item will have 4 bonus properties, some combination of the above.
  • Unique: the item will have 5 bonus properties.
• TB - Turn-Based (mode), as opposed to RT above
• TC - Town Control
• TH - Treasure Hunter
• Tier - Abbreviated and combined with a number, expresses the general power level of an item. Examples:
  • Any Level 1 Character can craft a double-barreled Shotgun which is considered to be t1
  • Get first level of Small Guns profession and craft Combat Shotguns, which are also t1
  • But get Small Guns 2 and the right blueprint to craft the H&K CAWS which is t2
  • The Pancor Jackhammer is even better, and cannot be crafted, so it's considered t3
  • A crafted Minigun is considered to be t2 even with stats
  • Meanwhile, the Avenger Minigun is t3
  • The Vindicator Minigun is even better than the Avenger, so it is t4
• TLA - Thermal Leather Armor, and is also another of the FOnline Servers called The Life After
• TP - Themepark
• TPR - Turbo Plasma Rifle
• VC - Vault City
• VCI - Vault City Inoculations
• VCP - Vault City Patrols
• vs Encounters - random encounters that include two or more NPC groups that are hostile to each other.
  • The groups often attack each other as well as whomever else enters the encounter.
  • They are often preferred for leveling up since a player Character can stand back and pick off all members of both groups while they mainly fight each other.
• WH - Warehouse or sometimes Weapon Handling
• WiP/WIP - Work in Progress; Wipe is pending
• WoF - Way of the Fruit
• WW - Waterworks
